\u200bMoving is difficult for anyone, especially for children. To assist in easing the burden, our aim is for eligible children, ages 19 and younger, to safely participate in an extracurricular activity of their choice when they move to a new home with their parents or legal guardian, whether they move across town, or across the country. Our goal is to have the\u00a0Moving Families Foundation<\/em>™ share in covering the cost of their participation for the first year via the\u00a0Moving Families Extracurricular Activities Scholarship Plan<\/em>.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<\/td>\n
\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\nEligibility<\/strong>
\nIf you are age 19 and younger, and move or relocate with your parents or legal guardian to a new home as part of a \u201cConfirmed Move,\u201d as defined by the\u00a0Moving Families Foundation\u2019s<\/em>\u00a0guidelines, you are eligible to receive a\u00a0Moving Families Extracurricular Activities Scholarship\u00a0<\/em>totaling your first year’s participation fees after your move up to a maximum amount of $500.00,\u00a0if you meet the plan\u2019s selection criteria.\u00a0\u201cConfirmed Move\u201d defined for eligibility purposes<\/strong>
\nWhether children\u2019s parents or legal guardian (by court order) is a renter or homeowner, the following must be present as part of a \u201cConfirmed Move\u201d for eligibility purposes to receive a Moving Families Extracurricular Activities Scholarship:\u00a0\n
\n
As part of their move to a new home, children\u2019s parents or legal guardian must be registered at the\u00a0Moving Families Initiative\u00ae Connectivity Platform<\/em>™<\/a>\u00a0AND the\u00a0Moving Families Foundation<\/em>™ [Extracurricular Activities Scholarship Interest Form<\/a>]\u00a0prior to the move-in date specified in their rental or lease agreement if they are a renter; or prior to their close of escrow date if they are a purchaser.\u00a0<\/li>\n
For renters, children\u2019s parents or legal guardian must have a signed rental or lease agreement (verified by the\u00a0Moving Families Foundation<\/em>™) for the new rental property they are moving into. For eligibility purposes, the children and their parents or legal guardian must move into the home for the move to be considered a \u201cConfirmed Move.\u201d\u00a0<\/li>\n
For homeowners, children\u2019s parents or legal guardian must have a signed purchase agreement (verified by the\u00a0Moving Families Foundation<\/em>™) for the new home they are moving into. For eligibility purposes, the children and their parents or legal guardian must move into their new home for the move to be considered a \u201cConfirmed Move.\u201d<\/li>\n<\/ul>\nQualification guidelines<\/strong>
\nTo qualify for a\u00a0Moving Families Extracurricular Activities Scholarship<\/em>, participant must:\n

Have their parents or legal guardian\u2019s \u201cConfirmed Move\u201d verified by the\u00a0Moving Families Initiative<\/em>\u00ae\u00a0Connectivity Platform<\/em>™ and the\u00a0Moving Families Foundation<\/em>™.\u00a0 \u00a0<\/li>\n
Be registered and enrolled in an age appropriate school of their choice (Elementary to high school) if they are of school age.\u00a0<\/li>\n*
Maintain their respective school\u2019s minimum qualification standards.\u00a0<\/li>\n
Maintain a good disciplinary record.<\/li>\n
Participate in an activity of their choice, for which they receive the scholarship.\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\nSelection criteria<\/strong>
\nThe following are among the criteria used in the selection process:\n
\n
Confirmation of your move to a new home with your parents or legal guardian.<\/li>\n
Maintain minimum academic standards at your school, if applicable.<\/li>\n
Commitment to learning combined with strong character as evident in your determination to set goals and the perseverance to remain focused on achieving them in the face of obstacles or barriers (Age appropriate).\u00a0\u00a0<\/li>\n
Commitment to serving others as evident by your participation in volunteering in school, religious, or community activities (Age appropriate).\u00a0<\/li>\n
Commitment to growing in your leadership and positively impact others in school and in other areas, such as family, arts, sports, community, etc. (Age appropriate).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

\nParticipating in extracurricular activities as young children teaches values, life skills and builds character. It also provides children with an opportunity to create new friendships in a natural free flowing way, especially when they move or relocate to a new school or community.\n

\nYes, you will need to provide your most recent transcript when you apply, if applicable.\nIf applicant move again after having received an extracurricular activity scholarship, are they eligible to receive another one?<\/strong>
\nRecipients are eligible to receive one Moving Families Extracurricular Activity Scholarship every five years, date to date of their parents or legal guardian\u2019s \u201cConfirmed Move.\u201d\nWho do I contact with questions regarding the scholarship application process?<\/strong>

\nA portion of the scholarship may be considered taxable by the U.S. Internal Revenue Service. Scholarships recipients are responsible for determining tax liability for the scholarship, and for reporting the taxable portions of their scholarship as income. See your accountant or CPA for details.\nAm I allowed to receive other scholarships or grants and still qualify for a\u00a0\u00a0Moving Families Extracurricular Activities Scholarship\u00a0<\/em>?<\/strong>
\nYes, there are no restrictions, however that only applies to the Moving Families Foundation™.\nHow I am affected if I am a student, or a student-athlete holding college scholarship offers from different colleges or Universities?<\/strong>
\nIf you are holding a full or partial scholarship offer from a college or University, you MAY or MAY NOT be prohibited from receiving any other scholarships or financial aid from any other source, other than that school. You are advised to check with the school you hold the scholarship offer from to confirm.\nHow will I receive my Moving Families Extracurricular Activities Scholarship?<\/strong>
\nScholarship amounts are sent directly to your extracurricular activity organization, or school.\n\u00a0How much does the Moving Families Extracurricular Activities Scholarship Plan offer?<\/strong>
\nQualified recipients will receive a\u00a0Moving Families Extracurricular Activities Scholarship<\/em>\u00a0totaling the amount of their participation fees up to a maximum amount of $500.00.\nIf I receive a Moving Families Extracurricular Activities Scholarship, what is expected of me?<\/strong>
\nThe\u00a0Moving Families Foundation<\/em>\u00ae expects scholarship recipients to:\n

Act with personal integrity.<\/li>\n
Demonstrate honorable character and leadership.<\/li>\n
Maintain a good disciplinary record.<\/li>\n
Be engaged in their community.\u00a0<\/li>\n
Work jointly and cordially with\u00a0Moving Families Foundation<\/em>\u00ae and their extracurricular activity organization staff.\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\nWhy did I receive an invitation to apply for a Moving Families Extracurricular Activities Scholarship?<\/strong>
\nYou moved or relocated with your parents or legal guardian. Thus, many families receive our invitations because they indicated they would like to receive information on\u00a0Moving Families Extracurricular Activities Scholarship<\/em>\u00a0opportunities.
\n\u200b\n\u200bInitially, all extracurricular activities scholarships will be awarded to qualified recipients on a first come, first awarded basis\u2014based on availability at the time of request. Scholarships will be offered in this manner until such time as we hit the Foundation\u2019s goal to offer them to all eligible candidates, according to plan.\n
