It does this by providing breastfeeding help and support, from both skilled health professionals and other mothers, in a friendly, non-clinical, caf\u00e9 style environment. The original Baby Caf\u00e9 was opened in London, England in 2000. Today, there are 136 Baby Caf\u00e9s world-wide, with 46 in the United States.<\/p>\n<p>The goals of the organization are:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>To promote the physical and psychological health of mothers and children through education and training regarding breastfeeding.<\/li>\n<li>To advance the general public knowledge of the health benefits, immediate and long term, of breastfeeding.<\/li>\n<li>To continue education among volunteers supporting breastfeeding mothers.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Please visit the website,\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.babycafeusa.org\/\" target=\"_blank\">www.babycafeusa.org<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>In our effort to meet the goals and realize the high standards of The Baby Caf\u00e9, U.K., we have sought partners and sponsors. The Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center Gayle Greve Hunt School of Nursing Baby Caf\u00e9 was originally established with generous support from the Paso del Norte Health Foundation, Begin at Birth Initiative, and the Texas Department of State Health Services Nutrition, Physical Activity, and Obesity Prevention Program. We have also received support in the forms of donations, in-kind contributions, and promotion.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Lactation Consultations available at alternate times<\/li>\n<li>Ample free parking<\/li>\n<li><strong>Free<\/strong> to the community!<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Every breastfeeding mother deserves free, top quality help and support.
