Borderland art lovers are in for a Chicano-themed treat beginning Friday.
\nPapel Chicano Dos: Works on Paper from the Collection of Cheech Marin will be on exhibit through June 17 at the El Paso Museum of Art in Downtown.
\n“It’s art that speaks to the experience of living on the border. I think it speaks to what we experience every day in El Paso and Ju\u00e1rez,” said Kevin Burns, exhibition curator. It (the exhibit) looks at how Chicano artists adapt and use cultural icons and symbols and reinterpret them for a modern audience.”
\nBurns said it took about four months to organize and plan the exhibit, and that Marin and his team were the ones who chose the 65 pieces on display.<\/p>\n
