EL PASO, Texas\u00a0<\/b>– Husband and wife community leaders Debbi and Dean Hester announce their support for Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center El Paso (TTUHSC El Paso) with a $15,000 contribution to the Triple Scholarship as a sponsor of the Paul L. Foster School of Medicine\u2019s 10-year anniversary celebration, \u201cRed Tie Affair for A White Coat Occasion\u201d. The Hesters have lived in El Paso for more than forty years and continue to invest in the community, having supported TTUHSC El Paso since its inception more than a decade ago.<\/u><\/u><\/p>\n

\u201cWe are honored to provide the medical school with a contribution that will support student scholarships and strengthen the pipeline for medical professionals in this community and throughout the region,\u201d said Dean Hester, Attorney and Partner at Ainsa, Hutson, Hester & Crews LLP. \u201cNot only is the medical school increasing the number of graduates each year, but TTUHSC El Paso is boosting our local economy by creating hundreds of high-paying jobs and investing in major construction projects for the growing campus – a more than $227 million annual impact.\u201d<\/u><\/u><\/p>\n

The Foster School of Medicine recruits students from El Paso and across West Texas, with a mission of improving access to quality health care in the Borderland. The scholarships will assist students from El Paso and students who have returned to the Sun City to attend the Foster School of Medicine after completing their undergraduate studies elsewhere.<\/u><\/u><\/p>\n

I am proud to support student scholarships for the Paul L. Foster School of Medicine and look forward to celebrating a decade of excellence.\u201d<\/u><\/u><\/p>\n

TTUHSC El Paso<\/span>\u2019s \u201cRed Tie Affair For A White Coat Occasion\u201d event will be held on Friday, Feb. 28, 2020, in celebration of the Foster School of Medicine\u2019s 10-year anniversary. The school opened its doors to an inaugural class of 40 students in 2009. Since then, more than 400 students have graduated and continued their medical careers locally and across the nation.\u00a0 All event proceeds will go toward medical student scholarships with a focus on recruiting students from El Paso and across West Texas who will remain or return to the region to serve their community. The Foster School of Medicine was established to serve the mission of improving access to quality health care in the Borderland.<\/u><\/u><\/p>\n
