Papel Chicano exhibit at El Paso Museum of Art highlights Cheech Marin’s collection by Sara Sanchez, El Paso Times

Borderland art lovers are in for a Chicano-themed treat beginning Friday.
Papel Chicano Dos: Works on Paper from the Collection of Cheech Marin will be on exhibit through June 17 at the El Paso Museum of Art in Downtown.

It (the exhibit) looks at how Chicano artists adapt and use cultural icons and symbols and reinterpret them for a modern audience.”
Burns said it took about four months to organize and plan the exhibit, and that Marin and his team were the ones who chose the 65 pieces on display.
